Rendalen isn't like everywhere else. Life runs a little slower here, and that's exactly how we like it. You'll find us in the heart of Østerdalen, among vast forests, quiet mountains, powerful waterfalls and endless trails. In Rendalen we live close to nature, to history and to each other. This is Norway's longest inland valley, with Sølen watching over it in the distance as a familiar and beloved landmark – a place of small communities, dedicated people and big experiences. It's where children still learn the difference between elk tracks and an iPad, and where old paths and traditions still show the way.
Throughout the year Rendalen fills with events, from small village gatherings to larger festivals like Veidekulturfestivalen, Fiskefesten and Grendefestivalen. The whole municipality carries the mark of an active cultural life and proud traditions. At the same time, Rendalen is a living place to settle, work and create – with room for both established businesses and new ideas.
Whether you come to ski, fish in Mistra or Lomnesjøen, paddle on Sølna, hike to the summit of Elgpiggen, or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the sun, you're welcome here.
Welcome to one of Scandinavia's best fishing, hunting and nature destinations!
